Information system
1.1.Basic concept of system
In defining system, there are two kinds of approach:
· Approach trough procedure, have definition like below:
“ system is a network form procedures which is interaction, gathering together to finish a target. ”
· Approach trough component/element, have definition like below:
“ system is a corps of element which is interaction is to finish a target “
Any system must have goal and objectives. That’s can be expressed into two form:
- Goal
Usually connected with larger scope (primary system), not with subsystem.
- Objectives
Usually connected with smaller scope, that’s called subsystem.
1.1.1. Characteristic of system
· Components
A system is consist of amount the components that be interacted, it’s mean the component are work each other to form the united.
· Boundary
area that bound one system with the other system or with the outside environments.
· Environments
Whatever outside of the system boundary that makes effects system operation.
· Interface
Is connection media between one subsystem with others subsystem. With this connection energy’s source is possible to flow from one subsystem to other subsystem.
· Input
Which energy that be entered to system. Can be divided into two:
ü Maintenance input
Which energy can make system operated
ü Signal input
Output from system
· Output
Result of processed energy. Can be classified into two:
ü Garbage
Result of processing energy which is not use.
ü Output
ü Result of processing energy which can be use.
· Process
Makes input become output.
· Objectives or goal
System can be told success if have reach their target/goal.
1.1.2. The classification of system:
Can be divided to:
1. Abstract system and physical system
2. Natural system and human made system
3. Deterministic system and probabilistic system
4. Closed system and open system
1.2.Basic concept of information
Information could be defined as below:
“ Information is a processed data become a good form and mean to accepting it ”
The source of information is data.
1.2.1. The information cycle
Quality of information
1. Accurate
The information must be free from the mistakes and doesn't drift
2. Timely
The information that come to receiver mayn’t late.
3. Relevant
That information has usual to user
